FAQ "What Happens if it Rains?"

Updated: May 8, 2023

If it rains on the day of your family photo session, it can be disappointing, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the session needs to be canceled or rescheduled.

Depending on the amount of rain, we may still be able to take photos outdoors if the rain is light enough. Alternatively, we could consider moving the session indoors to a location with plenty of natural light, such as a large window or a bright room, or my studio in Jeffersonville.

If rescheduling is necessary, we can try to coordinate with your schedule to figure out a day that works. It's important to keep in mind that my calendar book up quickly, especially during peak seasons, so it's best to reschedule as soon as possible. That said, I try not to schedule more than three family sessions per week in case I need to move sessions around. Another option is to reschedule with one of my associates in the event that my schedule doesn't line up with yours.

Ultimately, we will work with you to come up with a plan that meets your needs. It's also worth mentioning that rainy days in the Catskills very often leave us with the most beautiful backdrops for your family photo shoot. Here are some photos from sessions that might have otherwise been rained out.

Hey I'm Jill!

I've been photographing New York families for over twelve years now, and I can honestly say I love my job!

I prioritize creating honest photos of families being them. My number one goal is to create a visual time capsule for you.

The photos we create together are for you, but they're also for the people that love you. These images will serve as bits of proof that you were here, you loved, and people loved you back.

My Mission

To create honest photographs that feel nostalgic and true.

To collaborate with families rather than reshape them.

To celebrate and represent people of every race, ethnicity, body type, ability, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, and family structure.

All humans are welcome here.
